Dr. Judah E. Beck is a Board Certified and Fellowship trained Ophthalmologist. Dr. Beck earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Biochemistry and spent the next five years teaching underprivileged high school students biology, chemistry and physics in the Bronx, NY.
Dr. Beck attended Howard University College of Medicine, where he earned six separate academic scholarships while in attendance including twice being awarded the Trustees Scholarship given to the highest ranking members of the class. He scored with honors in the majority of medical school courses. He also scored in the 99th percentile in the country on his United States Medical Licensing Exam. He subsequently completed his intern year in Internal Medicine in the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Hospital. Dr. Beck complete his ophthalmology residency at Nassau County Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Beck is trained in ocular surface reconstruction, cataract, refractive surgery including bladeless LASIK, corneal transplant, anterior segment and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Additionally, he obtained extensive training Dry Eye Disease. He has published and co-authored scientific papers presented at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as well as the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
His areas of treatment include Dry Eye, cataract and refractive surgery, corneal surgery, transplant and disease, glaucoma, eyelid surgery, diabetic exam as well ocular surface reconstruction. Dr Beck is passionate about patient care and achieving excellent vision for his patients. He resides in Pittsburgh with his wife and 5 children and very active in the community.
